Snow and Saltwater A Maine Winter Elopement

I've been waiting a long time to share this post, to share these images! One frigid day in February this year I got to photograph the work and beauty of some of Maine's finest wedding professionals. My first ever Styled Wedding Shoot! Without the efforts and talent of my lovely friend, Kim Collins this never would have happened. Thank you, Kim, for your friendship, your talent, your passion, and most of all your energy!

So, that being said, let me tell you a little story. Marissa and Whitney are actually married and have been for a few years. In addition to loving each other, they love nature, animals, and having their photo taken. All of this made the day so much fun and much easier considering we started the day with hair and make up with Kimberly Collins The MakeUp Diva at 4am (or maybe it was 3?). For a sunrise ceremony you have to plan to start getting ready verrrry early in the day because sunrise in February in Maine is just after 6am!

We convened at a gorgeous suite at Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Vinnie was our little ringbearer. It was actually quite fitting because Inn By the Sea is so pet friendly, they actually work closely with the Animal Refuge League to adopt dogs to their patrons. You can find their current front desk helper from the ARL hanging out with staff in the lobby or being walked by folks staying at the Inn! Dozens of dogs have been rescued right there at Inn By the Sea and it's just one of the big reasons why we love this venue!

Dreams Bridal Boutique and Tuxedo Center let Marissa and Whitney dress up in some of the finest wedding attire 2019 has to offer.

Harmon's & Barton's Floral Company transformed the amazing room at Inn By The Sea in to an exquisite and romantic space. The candles, the greenery, the table settings, and even a little pretty for Vinnie. It was so romantic! We lit the fireplace, played music, and the energy was building.

Adding a personal touch to the ceremony was important to us. Gateway Celebrations - Officiated by Vivianna Adams did just that by bringing a tear to all of our eyes with her heartfelt speech and eloquent officiating of Marissa and Whitney's vows and affirmation.

The jewelry was a part of the day that I felt was important. I wanted to choose pieces that were unique, tasteful, and timeless. Each piece is from D. Cole Jewelers and just gorgeous.

Elopements and intimate weddings are the specialty at Inn By the Sea so we felt with this being a sunrise ceremony the invitations should be bright, bold, and elegant. Zula Bell created these beautiful invitations for us and I felt they really sparked some fun color and feel to the day. Imagine getting this as an invited guest! You'd know what a lively and fun wedding you were in for!

No wedding is complete without some sweets, and even though dawn was breaking A Little Suga was just what we ordered. Gabrielle wowed us all with her mind-blowing Lament Cake complete with strawberry filling just oozing between the layers. Truth be told I could have photographed that cake all. morning. long. Except everyone couldn't wait to cut in to it, which turned out to be a really good idea!

Please check out our hard work in print! Whitney and Marissa's wedding is published in July 2019's issue of Real Maine Weddings! Get yourself a copy!
