Saco Senior: Emma

How does one begin their senior year of high school? New shoes? A stack of college applications? Maybe a new car?

Emma started off her senior year at Thornton Academy with all of these things and more. We started planning her senior photo session months in advance because she wanted to be sure that these images screamed EMMA. No run of the mill poses, wardrobe, or scenes for this girl!

After over a decade of dancing with Dance House Productions, a local dance company. She wanted to show off this side of her life but not in a traditional frilly ballerina way. We incorporated our time in the studio and the urban setting of Portland, Maine with her pointe shoes and skills. We also had fun with some bold black swan inspired makeup (thanks to Nikki at Uptown Curl!).

We also wanted to make our time at the beach, reflecting her time spent on the waters of Maine and also represent her school, Thornton Academy. We played with smoke bombs in her school colors!

We also had so much fun with biodegradable glitter and a flower crown!

Recreating some of her mother's senior photos was a fun challenge for me and I think we nailed it! #That80sHair
