R+D Clay Hill Farm Wedding

The ultimate destination wedding in Maine! When I met D this winter to go over her photography plans for her spring wedding she had the wonderful idea to hire me to photograph their rehearsal dinner and to do their family formal portraits at Nubble Lighthouse before. Guys, this is genius. We were able to get wonderful family groupings at an awesome location (does it get any more Maine than that rocky coast, light house, and LLBean boots?!) and spend more time boogey-ing and mingling on the wedding day because we weren’t spending so much time doing family photos! Of course, the trade off is that they weren’t in their wedding dress and tux, but in the long run, does that really matter?

Hello, beautiful Nubble Light!

I started this wedding weekend with a portrait/engagement session with R+D in the postcard-esque Perkins Cove, Maine. Prior to our session D visited Adam Bouchard from Salon Loka in Ogunquit. She even remarked, he is fantastic! The way R looks at and holds D is awe-inducing. Y’all, these two are in loooooveeee.

Can we just talk about the fact that they have the cutest matching Maine outfits? They traveled from Bahrain and chose Ogunquit to get married because while they have family ties here, the weather is exceptionally different from their home! The ultimate destination wedding called on guests from all over the world to gather for this chilly April in Maine. Indulge in some good eats and even better company.

They had to have the iconic Bean Boots!

The groom’s heritage is from Sweden and they ordered a traditional Swedish Wedding cake from Johanna Jeppssons for their celebration. See it being made here!

The Beachmere Inn provided lodging and the location where the bride got ready. Outside The Beachmere on Marginal Way the couple had their first look. The waves crashing at high tide on the rocky coast made for an even more emotional moment and background. Her eyes welled up and the sea mist sprayed around them. It was truly romantic!

Clay Hill Farm graciously hosted the ceremony and reception. If ever there were a warmer, more welcoming, and exceptional staff, it would be with Rachel at Clay Hill Farm. She made sure all of R+D’s requests went smoothly with special touches.

The talented Online Band MC’d and kept the tunes going from the piano as guests entered Clay Hill Farm, through the ceremony, and the reception.

D actually cried when she saw her flowers. Calluna Flowers knocked it out of the park!

Carol at Delightful Treats in York, ME made these stunning cakes, cookies, and desserts for the dessert table!
